Welcome to Malicious Myths!

Our story starts with miniatures. A LOT of miniatures.

It was a passion that slowly took over our free time, our living space and eventually our daily lives. Most of you know us as Malicious Minis. Some of you have been around long enough to even remember a time before that. It wasn’t always easy, but we did our best to deliver something we could be proud of.

Since our rebrand to Malicious Minis, we have been working every day with one ambition in mind, to create a table-top game of our own. Having to sustain our release schedule back then didn’t really give us any time to pursue this goal, so to give us some breathing room to work on it, we launched our first Kickstarter campaign last year. First of all, I want to thank everyone who supported it. It was you all who enabled us to work on all of these projects for the past year, so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

With some time to cook and polish our skillsets, we came up with tons of really good ideas when it came to systems and features we wanted to implement, but we lacked the most important thing to make it work – a story to tell. We had to come up with a unique and captivating setting that people would actually enjoy and get immersed in. It started with small storylines we thought would be interesting to develop our TTG’s around. As we wrote these stories, we would expand them with additional locations, lore and characters. In time, it turned from a humble setting into a fully fledged universe with thousands of locations, characters, quests, items and storylines we wanted to share. To turn this all into reality, we decided it was time to launch our own game studio.

Now, we make it official.

THE STORM REMEMBERS

 

Dark tides are coming to Sigrun. Your choices will shape its fate.

 

The Storm Remembers is a narrative-driven tabletop RPG set in a dark fantasy world of our own creation. Your journey begins in Sigrun, a maritime state teetering on the edge of war, drowned in old ritualistic practices and sea-swept superstition. Every choice you make will have lasting consequences that shift your story accordingly.

You’ll travel from town to town with a merchant caravan, each stop acting like a sandbox adventure filled with quests, characters, and secrets that you can explore freely. Your actions throughout these encounters will determine what unfolds, who survives, and how your journey plays out.

 

 

Built for Story, Not Complexity

Unlike traditional TTRPGs, The Storm Remembers is incredibly easy to pick up. There are no massive rulebooks to study, and no complex character sheets to decipher. You can sit down and begin playing in under 10 minutes. The system is light, intuitive, and focused completely on immersion. Any advanced gameplay mechanics will gradually be introduced as you progress further into the story making sure you don’t get overwhelmed at any point.

Core Features:

 

  • Choice-Driven Narrative: Every story path is shaped by your decisions, with real consequences that carry across chapters.
  • Comic Inspired Layout: We visually designed our game to flow seamlessly from scene to scene, just like a comic book, manhwa or manga would for maximum immersion!
  • Free Roam Zones: Each new location acts like a sandbox with its own main storyline and optional side quests, lore and items, giving players freedom within a linear structure.
  • Facilitator Role: Instead of a traditional DM, The Storm Remembers uses a facilitator who helps guide choices and track outcomes, while also being part of the game as a player. This way everyone gets to play and have a good time!
  • Digital Resources: Everything needed to play is in the book, while optional tools can be found on our website for FREE. Our digital tools are there to make your table-top experience smoother and more immersive.

COINBOUND

 

As part of our commitment to storytelling and world-building, we wanted to give you a new, unique way to experience and explore the rich universe we’ve crafted. And to that end we’re incredibly excited to announce that we’re working on a new browser game set in the ancient city of Artem! For more veteran gamers among you this might be a pleasant surprise, considering that most of us grew up playing games like Fallen London, OGame and other similar browser titles.

Naturally a lot of these games haven’t aged well, so we’ve made it out goal to deliver that nostalgic experience but with a more modern and up-to-date twist to it.

 

The Story Begins Behind Bars

You awaken in the damp, torch-lit corridors of the Gates of Rhyne, a notorious prison in the Rhyne Empire where criminals, dissidents, and the unlucky vanish without record.

Fate, however unlikely, intervenes. One night, an opportunity arises, and with the help of your cellmate you make a desperate escape.

In gratitude, your companion grants you a deed for a small, crumbling shack in the city-state of Artem, to the south of that god forsaken prison. The city lies just outside imperial reach and the only place a fugitive like you can hide for now.

With no coin to your name, your only hope is to lay low in your new home and find work in a turbulent city.

Coinbound blends the text-driven immersion of classic browser games with the depth of modern narrative design. Choices matter, progress feels tangible, and the world around you evolves with every decision.

Whether you’re running errands in the Golden Crescent, investigating the strange happenings in The Slums of Artos, or gambling your last coin in The Veil, every path is written to feel alive, reactive, and steeped in the same lore that defines our universe.

THE PATH BEYOND

 

The Path Beyond is our flagship 12-part solo RPG book series. It’s a low fantasy saga set in the same universe as The Storm Remembers and Coinbound, but told through the eyes of a very special character…

 

You.

 

This is a solo adventure game where YOU are the hero. Every decision you make shapes your journey and the world around you. Whether it’s battling fierce enemies, solving tricky riddles, or making hard moral choices, the path is yours to carve.

 

The books are designed to be played day by day, following a natural rhythm. You will wake up, tackle new encounters, make choices, and end the day with a good nights rest (mostly) before the next day begins. It’s a daily adventure format that gives you something fun to return to every day, with story and gameplay that unfold gradually. Over time, your choices build into a larger, year-long narrative shaped entirely by your actions. Every success and failure you experience, every relationship you build and every decision you make will leave a mark in this world. What starts as a small daily adventure will grow into a personal epic lived day by day, by another version of you. So without further ado, let’s get into it!

 

Meet the Books

 

The Path Beyond is told across twelve interconnected volumes, each representing a unique chapter in your evolving journey. While each book brings its own tone, setting, and challenges, they’re all part of one continuous story, shaped and moulded by your decisions. From quiet vineyards and small town troubles, to bloodthirsty cannibals and knight tournaments, every book pushes your character (and you) further down the path.

Each volume builds on the choices you’ve made before, carrying forward your victories, losses, items, and relationships. Whether you’re forging alliances, uncovering secrets, or simply trying to survive the day, every entry in the series expands the world and deepens your personal legend. Below are the twelve books that make up your adventure through The Path Beyond!

 

  1. Notes of a New World – In a small vineyard town, opportunity and ambition entwine, setting you on a path where nothing is as simple as it seems.

BENEATH THE ASH

 

We’re also excited to announce that our first RPG title Beneath The Ash is officially in early development! It’s planned to be a narrative-driven RPG that combines tactical combat, branching storylines, and immersive presentation to deliver a darker, more personal kind of adventure.

 

 

Five Voices. One Fate.

The story begins fractured. You’ll play through five distinct prologues, each focused on a different character. These will be playable character-driven chapters that reveal each person’s past before their paths collide.

Once the group is formed, the character you chose will act as your eyes for the rest of the story. From that point on, everything is filtered through that characters perspective – what you know, what you see, and what you choose to do. Your protagonist becomes your lens and this opens way to different and interesting ways of telling the same story.

 

A Story Shaped by Perspective

Each character path unlocks exclusive scenes, dialogue, and insights that shift your understanding of the world. What one person overlooks, another obsesses over.
Only by seeing the story through multiple eyes can you start to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface.

Your decisions won’t just affect the path forward, they’ll also lead to different endings, each revealing a new piece of the larger mystery.

 

Atmosphere, Combat, and Control

Combat is planned to be tactical and intense, set in a unique side-scrolling format that keeps things personal. Every encounter will be handcrafted with no random elements, and no grind. Just fun encounters, smart decisions, and real stakes.

Behind it all is a world brought to life with unique art, cinematic presentation, voice acting, and an original score that pushes the emotional weight of every moment. We’re really focusing hard on atmosphere. Everything you’ll see, hear, and feel is built to draw you into the tension and uncertainty of your journey.

Early development is underway. Our goal is to create a tightly focused, character-driven experience that puts story first, but gives you the control to influence how it unfolds.

If you’re drawn to games with a strong storyline, dark and almost Lovecraftian atmosphere… you’ll feel right at home.

MALICIOUS COMICS

 

As if we didn’t have enough on our plate already, we’re also cooking up a series of short comics! With all the lore we’ve written so far, these will shine a spotlight on some characters and settings we have created that we found interesting but didn’t have the chance to develop fully or be included in our previous projects.

Think of the comics as a low stakes way for us to express some ideas and stories that we really liked but couldn’t use so far. The content is primed and ready, but we’re still working out the art direction, so for now this is just something we’d like to announce to be happening down the line.

 


 

ANIMATED SERIES

 

While not set in stone, we really want to turn some of our stories into short animations. Similar to the comics, it would explore some of the most captivating characters and moments we couldn’t fully dive into in the books or game. Like the comics, it’s still in its infant stage and we’ll share any progress we make towards it as soon as possible!
